About this postcard

The view looks across a calm stretch of water toward the tree-covered grounds of St. Mary's College, with a domed building rising above the treeline. The caption spelling St. Marys' refers to St. Mary's College, founded in 1844 by the Sisters of the Holy Cross and established as a Catholic women's college adjoining the University of Notre Dame just north of South Bend, Indiana. The message is an ordinary note about family visits and cold weather.
