The view shows St. Patrick's Church in Miami Beach, with a tall bell tower, red tile roofs on the church and adjoining buildings, palm trees, and flower beds. Cars are parked along the street in front.
By the 1940s Miami Beach was an established winter resort. The church's Mediterranean Revival details, tile roofs and a bell tower, fit the South Florida architecture of the period, and the landscaped grounds gave the parish a prominent place in the city.
