About this postcard

The picture shows St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Batesville, Arkansas: a Gothic Revival stone building with a square, crenellated tower at the left, a steep gabled roof, and a large pointed-arch window over the entrance, with a small sign board on the lawn and a street lamp at the right. Batesville, on the White River, is among the oldest towns in Arkansas and was an early commercial center of the north-central part of the state. The card presents the church as a local landmark in a straightforward street-side view.
