About this postcard
The starting gate at Hialeah Park Race Track, its numbered stall doors (1 through 14) swung open as the field breaks away, with a dense crowd of spectators massed along the rail and in the grandstand beyond. Hialeah Park opened in 1925 and became one of America's most fashionable winter racing venues, famed for its Mediterranean-style architecture and the flamingos that later inhabited its infield. The printed caption gives the card its own title, "They're Off at Hialeah Park Race Track, Miami, Florida."
