About this postcard
A view over a broad sheet of water ringed by wooded, rolling hills, framed by dark evergreen branches in the foreground; a small building and open field sit on the far shore at right. The card names the scene as State Camp at Peekskill, New York, the site of the New York National Guard's summer encampment (Camp Smith) established in the Hudson Highlands south of the city. The water and hills are characteristic of the Hudson River highlands landscape that drew excursionists and military training camps to this area in the early 20th century.
