Night view of the Texas State Capitol in Austin, its dome and long wings lit from within and floodlit against a dark, cloudy sky, with trees and a monument in the foreground. The printed caption calls the lit Capitol "the center facet of an immense diamond" among Austin's tower lights. Completed in 1888 of Texas pink granite, the Renaissance Revival capitol was designed by Elijah E. Myers and stands slightly taller than the U.S. Capitol.
