About this postcard

The Arizona State Capitol in Phoenix stands behind landscaped lawns, its central dome rising above a pedimented portico and columned wings. Palms and flowering shrubs frame the building in the view. Completed in 1901 to designs by James Riely Gordon while Arizona was still a territory, it served as the seat of government until the legislature moved to adjacent buildings in 1960. It now operates as the Arizona Capitol Museum.
