A tinted view looks down State Street from Broadway in Albany, New York. Trolley cars and horse-drawn wagons share the broad roadway, pedestrians walk the sidewalks, and tall commercial blocks line both sides. At the head of the street, the towers and red-roofed mass of the city's civic buildings rise in the distance. State Street was Albany's principal commercial thoroughfare, running from the Hudson River waterfront up to Capitol Hill, and its trolley tracks carried the city's street railway traffic in the early 20th century.
White border along the right edge; tinted lithograph on textured stock with visible retouching of the sky.
Postmark: AMESBURY MASS DEC 19 5-PM 1906. Undivided back ("THIS SIDE IS FOR THE ADDRESS"); Hugh C. Leighton Co. imprint, printed in Frankfort o/Main, Germany, No. 2516; light soiling and edge wear.
