About this postcard

A long steel truss bridge spans the river at Williamsport, its metal spans resting on stone piers. Trees and brush line the near bank, and a church spire and scattered roofs mark the town in the distance at left. Williamsport grew on the West Branch of the Susquehanna River and was long known for its lumber wealth. The brief message promises a return home the next day.
