The card pictures the sternwheel steamboat Klondike, named in the lower-left caption as "The Klondike of Wheeling, W. Va." The vessel is shown in profile with two tall smokestacks, a pilot house, and "THE KLONDIKE" lettered along its side, with heavy black smoke pouring from the stacks. The Klondike was a sternwheel riverboat of the Ohio River trade, and Wheeling was a major river port; the drawing is signed at lower right. The image is a monochrome artist's rendering rather than a photograph.
White border; monochrome illustration; light edge wear; signed at lower right.
No postmark. Undivided back with "PLACE STAMP HERE" box; white border around the picture; matte sketch/charcoal reproduction rather than glossy or linen. Light toning and a few foxing spots; pencil "58" at top right.
