Storm King Mountain, Hudson River, NY, 1924

About this postcard

Storm King Mountain rises steeply from the west bank of the Hudson River, its rocky face and wooded slopes catching low sunlight. A railroad line runs along the water's edge at the base of the mountain, with the broad river filling the foreground. The mountain is one of the signature peaks of the Hudson Highlands, a stretch of river long promoted for scenic travel, and the rail route at its foot carried passengers through the same landscape.

Aug 9 First night success- ful anyway & very cold, though. Compare this card with Mother's, Dad. This drive is wonderful! We are now in Pennsylvania - it seems like a real state. False care. Heaps of love. Fede + Ted.
