About this postcard
The view shows the open-air Summer Theatre on the campus of the Colorado State College of Education in Greeley, Colorado — a low, flat-roofed stage structure with brick side walls and a broad proscenium opening, set in lawns and shade trees. Behind it, partly screened by foliage, rises the brick Gunier Hall gymnasium with its tall arched windows. The college, founded in 1889 as the State Normal School, became Colorado State College of Education in 1935 and is today the University of Northern Colorado; its outdoor summer theatre was a fixture of the campus in the mid-twentieth century.
