A low sun sets behind a dark, hazy ridge across Lake Champlain, its red disc just clearing the distant hills while the choppy water in the foreground catches long streaks of gold and orange light. A wooded point of land juts in from the right and a faint pier or breakwater shows at the left horizon. Lake Champlain, the long narrow lake between Vermont's Green Mountains and New York's Adirondacks, was a popular scenic subject for postcards in the early 20th century.
Grainy lithographic screen texture; caption printed in red at upper right; light wear at corners and edges.
