White swans and ducks swim on a quiet stretch of river at Leeper Park, with a grassy bank, a low fence and a dense canopy of trees reflected in the water. Leeper Park was laid out along the St. Joseph River in South Bend in the late nineteenth century and became one of the city's best-known pleasure grounds, later home to a band shell and a 1906 Studebaker-designed bridge. The card's caption names the scene simply as a river view in the park.
