About this postcard

A color-tinted view of a young couple strolling hand in hand across a grassy park: the woman in a pale, high-collared dress carries a leafy branch over her shoulder, while the man in a dark suit and white collar looks toward her. Trees, shrubs and a rustic rail fence close the background. The card pairs the picture with a sentimental verse, "Sweetheart. — Sweetheart. — In your eyes love beams.", a typical turn-of-the-century greeting-card format sold for courtship and holiday sending. The vertical credit line along the left edge records a photograph copyrighted in 1907 by De Witt C. Wheeler.
