About this postcard

A fenced outdoor swimming pool is crowded with bathers on a sunny day. A high diving board rises at the far end, with a lower board to the right. Behind the pool stands a long white building with a dark roof and a row of windows; a bench and seated onlookers fill the foreground, and a tree line runs beyond. The caption presents the pool as typical of Fort Wayne's public recreation system, which it says included 39 parks and playgrounds. The scene shows a municipal pool serving as a summer gathering place in a mid-century Indiana city.
