About this postcard
Interior view of the great pipe organ of the Salt Lake Tabernacle, its tall silver pipes rising in tiers above the choir seating and the curved galleries of the auditorium, with rows of benches in the foreground. The Tabernacle, completed in 1870 on Temple Square, was built as a vast oval auditorium for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and is famed for its acoustics; the organ seen here, built by the Kimball Organ Company and later enlarged, is among the largest in the world. The card's caption markets the building to visitors as the "Great 'Mormon' Tabernacle."
