About this postcard
The Temple of Osiris rises as a cluster of red-orange hoodoo spires and fins above the pale, eroded walls of a canyon amphitheater, with forested slopes and distant blue ridges beyond. Bryce Canyon, a series of natural amphitheaters on the Paunsaugunt Plateau, was set aside as a national monument in 1923 and became a national park in 1928. Early promoters gave its formations grand Egyptian and classical names, and the printed caption notes that evergreen trees add touches of green to the pink, orange, and red rock, often capped with white. It places Bryce Canyon 275 miles south of Salt Lake City, reached by rail or auto boulevard.
