About this postcard
The Teton Peaks rise in a jagged, snow-streaked wall above Jackson Lake, their reflection filling the still water in the foreground. Dark evergreens frame the shore, and a few small buildings with reddish roofs sit among the pines at the left. The printed caption identifies the scene as Teton Peaks reflected in Jackson Lake, Grand Teton National Park. The view belongs to the early years of Grand Teton National Park, established in 1929, when Jackson Lake and the Teton Range were becoming familiar stops for motor tourists in the northern Rockies. The lake sits at the base of the range, and its calm surface often gives the peaks the mirror image shown here.
