About this postcard
A comic Thanksgiving card built around a raised, die-cut turkey head and neck in red and green, pasted over a printed sheet of music in the key of E-flat. The lyric lines are a punning love note, "You I mor[e] turkeys love" and "heir sweet-est [g]obb[le] gobble," leading into a run of "gobble, gobble" notes and closing with the punchline "THAT MEANS ME." The handwritten message is from grandparents to a grandchild, noting that Papa and Mama are with them on Thanksgiving Day. Applied die-cut turkey designs were a popular novelty format for American Thanksgiving greetings in the early 20th century.
