A chromolithograph Thanksgiving greeting shows two large tom turkeys with fanned tails in a grassy yard while a boy in a cap and jacket, switch in hand, chases a hen turkey; two other children watch from a low pink wall. The card's own greeting, "Thanksgiving Greetings," frames the scene in decorative red lettering at upper left. Such turkey-and-children vignettes were a standard motif of American Thanksgiving postcards in the early 20th century, when the holiday card trade flourished alongside Christmas cards.
