Thanksgiving Greetings: boy carrying turkey with two girls, Pottstown, PA, 1908

Card type
Lithograph

About this postcard

A Thanksgiving greeting shows a boy in a blue sailor suit and straw hat carrying a large, dark-plumaged tom turkey on his shoulder. Two girls, one in a blue dress with a white sash and one in red, watch beside a house door and a white birch fence. The printed caption reads "Thanksgiving Greetings." Thanksgiving postcards of the early 1900s often used the turkey and rural New England motifs to mark the holiday.
