About this postcard

A large turkey stands in the foreground among autumn leaves, with a farmstead and barn in the background and a squirrel on a branch above. The rural scene frames a Thanksgiving greeting. In the early 1900s, Thanksgiving postcards often tied the holiday to country life and the harvest, with the turkey as the holiday's recognizable emblem.
