A low, red-tiled Spanish Colonial Revival building with a white stucco facade sits behind a lawn, flower beds and a large eucalyptus tree, with a small sign reading "Art Gallery" at the curb and the ocean visible at right. The Laguna Beach Art Association, founded in 1918 by local painters, opened this gallery building in 1929; it later became the Laguna Art Museum, the oldest art museum in California. The card's sunset sky and pastel coloring are typical of the linen-era views of the town's art colony.
