About this postcard
A tree-lined drive and lawn on the campus of Saint Clara College at Sinsinawa, Wisconsin. Young shade trees border a curving road, and college buildings appear partly hidden by the foliage. The school grew out of St. Clara Academy, founded at Sinsinawa Mound in 1846 by the Dominican priest Samuel Mazzuchelli and staffed by the Dominican Sisters. It was chartered as Saint Clara College in the early 1900s. The campus sits on Sinsinawa Mound in southwestern Wisconsin, and the open lawn and rows of trees give the grounds the orderly, sheltered look common to small Catholic colleges of the period.
