About this postcard

The photograph shows the Castle, a stone building with round turrets, crenellated rooflines, and arched windows, standing among bare winter trees on the Brandeis University campus in Waltham, Massachusetts. The building was raised in the late 1920s for Middlesex University, the medical and veterinary school that occupied the hill before Brandeis was founded in 1948. Brandeis took over the campus that year, and the Castle, now known as Usen Castle, was among its first buildings and has long served as a student residence.
