About this postcard

A bird's-eye view of a large Tudor-Gothic stone castle with round towers, crenellated walls and blue-gray roofs, an American flag flying from the central tower, set among dense trees with a drive and stone terraces below. The card names it as Middlesex College of Waltham, Massachusetts. The building, known as "The Castle," was erected in the late 1920s for the Middlesex College of Medicine and Surgery; after that school moved to Cambridge in 1948 the property became the first campus of Brandeis University, where the structure is remembered as Usen Castle.
