About this postcard

The Cavern Cafe fills a natural rock chamber fitted out as a dining room and nightclub. White-clothed tables and green chairs sit on a polished floor beneath a rough stone ceiling hung with paper lanterns. At the rear, a stage framed by blue drapery and a painted backdrop faces the room, and waiters in white jackets stand at the right. Nogales, Sonora, sits directly across the border from Nogales, Arizona, and the cave setting made the cafe a novelty for travelers and shoppers from the U.S. side. The sender writes of stopping in Nogales and having lunch "in this cavern."
