About this postcard

Tree-lined walks cross the grassy common, with several people strolling and a man in a suit and hat seated on a bench at right. Faint buildings appear beyond the trees. The scene is the Common in Waltham, Massachusetts, a public green in a manufacturing city known in the period for its watch works.
