About this postcard
The Corn Fence is a wrought-iron fence about fifty feet long, its bars and rails worked into cornstalks with leaves and tassels. The iron is painted green with yellow tassels and set on a stone base in front of a brick wall. A small sign at the upper left reads "CORN STALK." The caption says the fence was made before the Civil War and that a duplicate of the design is doubtful. It stands in the Old French Quarters (the French Quarter), a district known for its wrought-iron galleries and courtyard fences.
