The Craven House, a long two-story yellow hotel with a broad porch and a flag, stands among trees on Lookout Mountain. Above it, Point Lookout rises along the ridge, its rock face topped by a circular pavilion or observatory. The hotel and lookout belonged to the summer resort trade that grew on the mountain above Chattanooga in the early twentieth century.
