About this postcard
Color view of the Dayton Biltmore, a tall hotel with a red-brick facade, a light stone base and top floors, and an American flag flying from the roof. Arched storefronts and awnings line the ground floor, with a few pedestrians and vintage automobiles at the street corner below. The Biltmore was Dayton's downtown showpiece hotel, built at the end of the 1920s when the city was a thriving manufacturing center. On the back, the writer sends a chatty note to a friend about her coming trip to Florida, wishes she were going along, and mentions a cousin who spends nearly every winter there.
