About this postcard
A stone springhouse with arched openings framed in greenery and bright flower beds, with a small plaque lettered "THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH" set into the masonry and a paved walk in the foreground. The site is the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park in St. Augustine, Florida, a tourist attraction long promoted as the spring sought by Juan Ponce de León during his 1513 expedition to La Florida. The landscaped springhouse and grounds were developed in the early twentieth century as a visitor destination, and the park remains one of the city's best-known attractions.
