A comic scene shows a man in a dark suit and bowler hat walking arm in arm with a woman in a long dress and wide hat. Another woman in a white dress and hat walks ahead of them, and a third woman at the right throws both hands up toward her head. The printed caption reads "The Model Husband—when the Wife is not looking!" The joke turns on the husband's behavior changing when his wife is not watching. Humorous postcards like this were a common early 20th-century way to send a quick joke along with a few lines of news.
