A view of the Natural Bridge in Rockbridge County, Virginia, a 215-foot-high limestone arch spanning Cedar Creek, framed here by trees and dense green undergrowth with a stream running beneath the opening. The site was surveyed by George Washington, purchased by Thomas Jefferson in 1774, and long operated as one of Virginia's best-known scenic attractions, later a National Historic Landmark. The card's own caption simply names it "The Natural Bridge, Virginia."
