About this postcard

The Parthenon replica in Centennial Park, Nashville, seen across a lawn with a statue on a pedestal at right and flower beds in the foreground. The full-size building was originally constructed as the fine arts pavilion for the 1897 Tennessee Centennial Exposition and later rebuilt in permanent materials, becoming a long-standing feature of the park. The card's caption calls it the only exact reproduction of the Parthenon at Athens and notes the Cowan Collection of Art in the basement.
