About this postcard
Interior view of "The Pergola," the vine-covered dining room of the Hotel Lenox in Boston, with tables set in white linen beneath a rustic trellis of grapevines, hanging clusters of grapes and baskets of red and white flowers. The Hotel Lenox opened in 1900 at the corner of Boylston and Exeter Streets in Boston's Back Bay, and its Pergola dining room was a noted venue for luncheons, dinners and society gatherings in the early 20th century. The card's bright, poster-like coloring is typical of Boston lithographic work of the 1910s-1920s.
