About this postcard

A tree-lined promenade on the U.S. Reservation at Hot Springs, Arkansas, with strollers in coats and hats walking a wide paved path past frame and brick buildings, utility poles, and bare winter trees. Congress set aside the reservation in 1832 to protect the hot springs, and the site became Hot Springs National Park in 1921. The promenade ran near the bathhouses where visitors took the thermal waters that made Hot Springs a health resort.
