About this postcard

A tree-lined promenade on the federal reservation at Hot Springs, Arkansas, with strollers in coats and hats walking a wide paved path past frame and brick buildings, utility poles and bare winter trees. The U.S. Reservation was set aside by Congress in 1832 to protect the hot springs, and the site became Hot Springs National Park in 1921; the promenade ran along the row of bathhouses that drew visitors seeking the thermal waters.
