About this postcard

The picture shows the Queen's Court, a cluster of pale, fin-like limestone spires (hoodoos) rising in front of the red-orange cliffs and pine-studded slopes of Bryce Canyon. The Queen's Court is one of the amphitheater formations along the canyon's rim, carved from the Claron Formation's soft, iron-tinted limestones by frost and rain. Bryce Canyon National Park, set aside as a national monument in 1923 and made a national park in 1928, is famous for these densely packed hoodoo walls.
