A broad field stretches toward the brick buildings of The School of the Ozarks, with a tall smokestack, a water tower, and wooded Ozark hills behind. The printed caption calls it "a most unique institution of learning," where Ozark mountain boys and girls worked their way through school. Founded in 1906 as a work college near Hollister, it later became College of the Ozarks. Lake Taneycomo, formed by the Powersite Dam in the early 1910s, lies nearby and helped draw resort traffic to the region.
Linen-textured stock with a narrow white border; light edge wear and a small blemish in the foreground field.
No postmark. Divided-back Curteich linen postcard; printed description and publisher imprint; handwritten name 'Dilla' at bottom; light wear.
