A dirt road curves past a rocky limestone bluff where a spring flows from the base of the cliff. Three figures in white dresses stand at the spring, and an open touring car is stopped on the road. The printed caption calls the spot "one of the enchanted spots on a famous driveway." Cliff Drive follows the bluffs above the Missouri River in Kansas City and formed part of the park and boulevard system designed by George Kessler. By the 1920s, the drive was a popular route for motorists, and the spring was one of its noted sights.
