Three tall red sandstone spires, the Three Graces, rise from sandy ground in the interior of Garden of the Gods, with lower rock walls and juniper bushes around them and a blue sky with scattered clouds above. The caption calls the group one of the park's many "odd Red Sandstone Rock formations." Garden of the Gods, near Colorado Springs, was already a well-known scenic stop by the early 20th century, its named fins and spires formed from ancient sand dunes and visited by tourists heading to Pikes Peak.
