About this postcard
A wide downtown intersection — "The Triangle" — with streetcar tracks curving through the pavement, a horse-drawn covered wagon and buggies at the right, and pedestrians crossing in front of rows of brick commercial blocks. Painted billboards on the central building advertise "Shortland College SESSIONS" and the "Goodhue Cooke Co." (insurance and real estate), with a large clock sign for an Owl cigar above the corner storefronts. The scene captures Akron's early-20th-century commercial core, when electric trolley lines and horse traffic still shared the same streets.
