Front view of the White House from the north, its portico columns and pediment framed by trees, an American flag flying above the roofline and a circular flower bed with a fountain on the lawn. The north front faced Pennsylvania Avenue and served as the main public entrance during Theodore Roosevelt's administration, when this card was mailed.
The sender wrote of "having a nice time" while away and posted the card from Staunton, Virginia, to a recipient in Durbin, a small town in the mountains of Pocahontas County, West Virginia.
