The view follows Beaver Brook through a wooded stretch known as The Willows, with grassy banks and dense trees on both sides. A small structure sits in the meadow beyond the stream. Beaver Brook is a Charles River tributary that runs through Waltham and nearby Belmont; in the early 1900s, Waltham was a busy manufacturing city, and views of its brooks offered a rural contrast.
