About this postcard
A tinted street view looks north along Third Street toward the Market Street intersection, with horse-drawn wagons, delivery carts and pedestrians filling the cobbled roadway between tall commercial blocks. A green-domed tower rises on the left and a mansard-roofed office building closes the vista at center. Third Street was one of downtown San Francisco's busiest commercial corridors in the years after the 1906 earthquake and fire, when much of the surrounding district was rebuilt with the steel-frame and masonry buildings seen here.
