To Greet You winter greeting with robins, circa 1907

About this postcard

The front shows a small winter vignette: a lone figure walking through snowy woods, framed by two red-breasted birds and sprigs of holly or evergreen on a pale blue ground. The birds look like robins, a familiar greeting-card motif, and the printed caption reads simply "To Greet You." The design is general enough for a Christmas, New Year's, or winter note. A handwritten note to Connie is a chatty, partly garbled update about names and a Saturday night plan; its "Pollie" is likely Polly. Such cards were ordinary correspondence in the early twentieth century, often sent for no occasion beyond a quick hello.
