A floral greeting built around the printed phrase “TO MY DEAR FRIEND,” with the word FRIEND formed from purple violets and surrounded by red carnation-like blossoms, green leaves, and grasses on a cream ground. A small dark swastika sits at the lower left, a common good-luck emblem in the years before World War I. The card carried a New Year’s wish from Fitchburg to Clinton, Massachusetts, and the sender asked that Bertha and Edith be told to write.
