About this postcard

The photograph shows the Gothic tomb monument of Bishop Aquablanca in Hereford Cathedral, its three pointed arches and pinnacles rising above a recumbent effigy enclosed by an iron railing. Aquablanca, often spelled Aigueblanche, was a thirteenth-century Bishop of Hereford and a Savoyard adviser to Henry III; his monument is one of the cathedral's notable medieval survivals.
